Music performances to usher fans into New Year
Musicians will today, on New Year’s Eve, host end-of-year live performances across the country as they join fans in ushering in 2026 with vibes and celebrations.
Performances have been lined up in Lilongwe, Blantyre and Mzuzu cities while fans from various districts will also enter the New Year vibing with other musicians.
For musician Tay Grin all is set as he plans to close the year in style with an exclusive all-white end-of-year party themed ‘Roaring 25 with the King’.

Scheduled at Rivva Lounge and Grill in Lilongwe, the high-end event is an exclusive end-year party limited to 200 guests, where the Nyau King is expected to deliver a premium experience.
In an interview, Tay Grin said the team wants to create an exclusive atmosphere where those in attendance can welcome the new year in style and that the choice of venue and concept is to give fans a unique and luxurious experience.
“We want people to feel special as they walk into the new year. There will be fireworks, amazing food and wine for people to enjoy and great music,” he said.
The night will feature live performances by Tay Grin, Gemini Major and UK-based DJ Tee, as guests will enjoy a five star dining experience.
Meanwhile, Beerland Festival has organised end of the year show at Stamag Cafe in Lilongwe and Scallas Cafe in Blantyre.
The Lilongwe show will host performances by Onesimus, Joe Ikon and DJ Happy DJ Wayne and DJ Thando while Blantyre fans will enjoy performances by Fada Moti, Trappy Beats, Aidfest and Kineo.
One of the organisers, Kennedy Maluwa said the shows have come after a break but were brought back following sustained demand from fans eager to celebrate the transition into the New Year with live music.
“There has been demand from fans and we want to allow people to enter the new year with good vibes as they enjoy seeing their favourite artists on stage,” he said.
On the other hand, artists such as Namadingo and The Great Angels Choir have taken entertainment directly to fans’ homes by offering private performances at a fee.
The end-of-year performances have all been lined up to offer fans different ways to welcome the New Year.
